Fernando Casado

He holds a Ph.D. from the Central University of Barcelona in Economic and Social Sciences, a Master in Economic Development and Journalism from University of Columbia NY, and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management from University of Barcelona’s Institute for Public Economics. He is founder of CAD, The Centre of Partnership for Development and has worked as advisor to a variety of different organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development (UNDSD), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Bank and as General Coordinator of the Millennium Development Campaign in Spain. We Are Not Ants! is Fernando’s third book.

Javi Creus

Javi first came up with the idea to write a book using rational, objective data to fight against the gowing influence of “badly informed pesimists”. He says he is still happy he found a group of friends to bring his initial idea (which basically consisted in writing long lists of the positive things in the world) into reality and publish We Are Not Ants. Javi is an idea expert and founder of Ideas for Change, a Barcelona-based consultancy that works for companies, organizations and institutions, as well as for non-profit projects. He holds an MBA from ESADE where he also taught as an associated professor. He was an Internet entrepreneur and later an advertising strategist. He likes to think of himself as a social innovator which he has proven to be, pushing forward projects like Wam2000 or @kubik.

Pablo Juncadella

Pablo Juncadella is the art director behind We Are Not Ants! As a young graphic designer he spent some years working at Grafica in Spain and later for Pentagram in London, until he went on to found Mucho in 2003. One of the first projects was the art direction for the British newspaper The Observer. In 2006, he moved back to Barcelona and began working on local and international projects. At Mucho Pablo has been working with smaller and bigger clients including Xocoa, Demano, Demasié, Boolab, or multinationals like BMW or Random House Mondadori. He also collaborates with arts and culture institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Monumenta and Redesearte Paz, just to name a few. Since 2008, he has been collaborating with EINA where he is teaching graphic design.

Doris Obermair

Doris is a strategy consultant for Ideas for Change and partner at ON i ON comunicación. She has a degree in Economics and Business Administration, with a specialization in Marketing. She has been working for The Futures Company as a market researcher and analyst, she writes in various blogs about video marketing and online communication. Doris has also worked as a journalist for Infonomia writing about innovation, technology and design. She was actively involved in designing and creating the first Spanish web TV on innovation, infonomia.tv. She strongly believes in the peer-to-peer economy and is a heavy practitioner of collaborative consumption. Doris is the authors of chapter 3 of We Are Not Ants!, which is her first book.
