Zipcar is a car-sharing website with the aim to reduce the dependence on personally-owned cars, and thereby the numbers of cars itself. They know that fewer cars on the road means less congestion, less pollution, less dependence on oil, and cleaner, fresher air to breathe, and that is why they promote to share cars.
Zipcar offers the service to private people, businesses and universities. It started in the UK, but is now also available in the United States and Canada.
